The endowment

The Foundation has been created to ensure the long-term preservation of the Synagogue as a place of worship, a  heritage landmark and a centre for education and learning. 

Although a business plan is in place to ensure the viable operation of the Synagogue, helped by the increased number of visitors we expect to welcome once the project is completed, the Trustees know to expect, and are planning for, the unexpected. 

We are therefore establishing an endowment, with an initial target of £3million to provide annual revenue to maintain the fabric of the Synagogue and support all its religious, cultural and educational activities.
