The Bevis Marks Synagogue Heritage Foundation was established by the Spanish and Portuguese (S&P) Sephardi Community in London.
Our mission is to pass on the heritage that has enriched our own lives and those in our wider communities. We believe ours is a legacy that should be preserved and shared for the benefit of others for centuries to come.
The Foundation works to support the synagogue, its community, and open its stories and traditions to the widest possible audience.
Our vision is to enable the Bevis Marks’ living community to thrive and to offer enriching experiences for everyone. The Bevis Marks Synagogue Project has created a special place to discover the fascinating stories and enduring traditions of the S&P Sephardi Community.
The Dangoor Heritage Centre sits alongside the historic Synagogue, which individuals, families, groups and students can visit as part of their tour. See history come alive in one of London’s most special spaces, 320 years in the making.
Through education we can leave behind us a better world. The Foundation will play an important role in creating new opportunities for people to learn and share. It is our responsibility to support that work as best we can.
Rabbi Dr Abraham Levy z”l OBE, Honorary Benefactor
The Bevis Marks Synagogue Heritage Foundation is committed to securing the future of the Synagogue and The Dangoor Heritage Centre for generations to come. We can only do this with the support of our generous contributors whose donations are funding the future maintenance and preservation of the Synagogue and its collections.
