Supporting Your Visit

• Audio

  We have an induction loop in the Kahal Room and Synagogue. There are also points at the ticket office and in the café.

  We offer a subtitled audio guide, available for pickup at our Ticket Office. It comes in two versions; an adult and a family guide. The adult guide is approximately 70 minutes-long and the Family guide lasts 50 minutes. The audio guide headphones are over-ear.

• Toilets

  Our toilets are on the Lower Ground Floor. We have accessible toilets with baby changing facilities. We also offer ambulant toilets, unisex toilets, and single sex toilets. We do not have a Changing Places toilet. The nearest one is 40 Leadenhall Street.

• Lifts and access

  All areas of the Dangoor Heritage Centre are accessible via step-free access. The synagogue is step-free apart from a section of the Ladies Gallery. There is access via the lift in the Dangoor Heritage Centre on one side of the gallery only.

• Borrow a wheelchair

  We have wheelchairs you can borrow onsite. Please contact us ahead of your visit to reserve one.

• Parking

  There is no parking onsite. The nearest car park is the Minories Car Park which is an 11-minute walk away.  Find out more about disabled parking in the City of London.

• Sensory Resources and Support

  Our Sensory Bags have items to improve your visit. They include ear defenders, fidget spinners, magnifying glasses, reading overlays, timers, and more. Pick up a bag at our ticket office.

  We run relaxed mornings every Wednesday morning in school holidays from 10:30-11:30. Please book a ticket online. If you need any extra support, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs! If you would like a Visual Guide for the site, please contact us to request one.

  We offer a version of our family Treasures Trail for our young neurodivergent visitors which uses symbol supported text to help people with reading, understanding and communicating. If you are interested, please enquire at our ticket office where they will be available to collect.

• Exhibition spaces

  Large print guides are available in all our exhibition spaces.

  Bevis Marks Synagogue: A soundscape of singing and praying in Hebrew will be playing in the synagogue. A different track plays every 10 minutes.

  Wolfson Gallery: Lighting and temperature levels are quite low to protect the objects on display. This gallery is on the Lower Ground corridor. It’s a path for visitors heading to the toilets, so it may get busy.

• Kahal Room

  Lighting and temperature levels are quite low to protect the objects on display and to allow the film to play.

  There is a film playing which has subtitles and plays on a loop with audio provided via the audio guide. If you did not collect one at the Ticket Office you can pick up an audio guide in the Kahal Room.

  Self-led craft activities take place here, so expect families to be in this space as well.

• The George Weisz Treasury

  Lighting and temperature levels are very low to protect the objects on display.

  A film with music shows 3D rotations of several objects. This plays on a loop.

• Seating

  There is plenty of seating in the synagogue and you are welcome to sit here as long as you like.

  • There are seats in the Kahal Room for the film and a table and chairs for the family activities.
  • There is bench seating in the George Weisz Treasury.
  • We also have tables and chairs for café users in The Edmond & Lily Safra Foyer.
• Assistance dogs

  Assistance dogs are welcome onsite. A water bowl is available on request.
