Main Entrance

The visitor entrance to Bevis Marks Synagogue is on the main street, Bevis Marks. Its gated entrance is set back from the street under a covered walkway. Look for the brick arch with a section of historic stone archway above. Please note that we operate bag checks for security reasons.

There is step-free access from street level into the courtyard and then into the Dangoor Heritage and Visitor Centre. Please see our accessibility pages for more information.

Public Transport

We encourage visitors to walk, cycle or use public transport to Bevis Marks Synagogue wherever possible. Located in the heart of the City of London, parking is challenging.

We are very accessible by public transport, with several tube stations around ten minutes away — Aldgate (4 minutes), Liverpool Street (6 minutes), Aldgate East (8 minutes), Bank (11 minutes) and Moorgate (12 minutes). Liverpool Street and Fenchurch Street mainline stations are both within 10 minutes walk. Many bus routes stop near Bevis Marks.

Cycling

For security reasons, we don’t provide bike racks at Bevis Marks Synagogue. There are many bike racks nearby, including on Bevis Marks, St Botolph Street and in Aldgate Square.

There are nearby Blue Badge parking bays on Creechurch Lane and Mitre Street. Please check with the City of London for further details
