The Foundation was created to ensure the long-term preservation of the Synagogue as a place of worship and, with its unparalleled archives and collections, as a cultural, educational and heritage landmark in London.

Our business plan is in place to ensure the viable operation of the Synagogue and visitor centre. Now that the Foundation’s project is complete, it is supported by the increasing numbers who recognise us as a top London tourist attraction. However by planning for the unexpected, we can ensure the long-term preservation of the Synagogue and its treasures, safeguarding the activities the Foundation undertakes.

That’s why the Trustees have established an endowment fund and set an initial target of £3 million. This will provide an annual revenue to maintain the fabric of the Synagogue and support all of our religious, cultural and educational activities.
